Get it Moving

I plan on having a very productive day today.  Keeping it clean and keeping it tight.  I will get in a hour of Zumba today in addition to the other routines that I might do at home.

In addition to wanting to lose weight, I started this journey to enter into a contest.  The contest ends in August so that gives me plenty of time to lose a few pounds.  I am not absolutely sure that I will enter but I am using that as my motivation to continue to eat right and exercise.

I am also entering another contest today.  This one ends 12 weeks from today.  The winner of each contest is determine by whomever made the most transition from start to finish.   The odds of winning is so high but I use it as a motivator to keep going.

My meal plan for the day is:

  • Meal 1 - Morning Start

    Lean Protein: 3 egg whites
Complex Carb - Starch: 1/3C oatmeal, banana
Complex Carb - Fruit or Vegetable:
    Healthy Fat: olive oil

No deterence

Just because I couldnt make it to Zumba today, I did not let that get in the way of me doing some type of exercise.  I did a hour of various routines with 5lbs weights.  I did a combo routine that consisted of hammer curls, shoulder presses, squats and oblique side bends.  I did 3 sets of 20 oblique crunches three times.  Added some biceps curls, triceps work, shoulder raises, a routine on my stepper and deadlifts.

I feel really accomplished today.  I was able to handle a routine in the house although I prefer going to a gym.

Not a good day

Since Saturday, I have been out of it.  I slept off and on yesterday.  Today is no better.  I have a major headache.  This is a problem because it stopped me from exercising this morning.  I try to eat every 2.5 hours.  My meal plan for today is:

  • Meal 1 - Morning Start

    Lean Protein: 3 egg whites
Complex Carb - Starch: 1/3C oatmeal, banana
Complex Carb - Fruit or Vegetable:
    Healthy Fat: olive oil

Just a day..

Nothing brewing today.  I did get up to go to what I thought would be a Zumbathon but it turned out to be only 30 minutes...it was part of a aerobicthon.

Just focusing on keeping it clean (eating) today.  Oatmeal pancakes were great...full of protein and carbs.

I think I will try SparklePeople.com to see if I can get a meal plan for the week.  Then I will go to the store to buy the items I need.

Stay true to yourself and your health and remember that

Non-Scale victory

A few months ago, some gremlins visited my closet and sewn up my close a size smaller.  I could no longer squeeze in them comfortably.  It was very disappointing to have to go to the store to purchase a larger size.  I started eating better at the beginning of this month.  Worked out at least 5 days of the week every week and had a loss of approximately 6 lbs.

Although to me, I don't look any smaller but I decided to try on a pair of jeans that are 1 size smaller than my original and 2 size smaller than my new.  I am happy to say that they are up my thighs and button around my waist.  I do have a slight muffin top but you cant tell this hot momma anything.

It is such a motivating feeling to know I am making progress.  In addition to that, one of my co-workers told me I look like I lost some inches and to me, I looks like my butt is a little up and tighter.

Hello World!!

...welcome to my blog.  I have decided to write about a journey that I hope I can complete.  Its the all time, every new year favorite - weight loss.  Currently I am 200lbs.  I started this journey at 207.4 - wow, what an eye opener.

As a young girl, I was always thin.  In high school, I was 5'7" and weighed a whopping 119 lbs.  I was once called Olive Oyl ( Popeyes girlfriend) and string bean.  I never let that effect me.  I can remember my mom telling me that all the stuff I ate was going to catch up with me later.

Years past and I became pregnant with my first child.  I was thrilled to be gaining some weight, getting some boobs and developing somewhat of an arz.  After his birth, I was happy to keep the weight but didnt like the shape of my body.

Over the last 23 years, I have gained more weight.  There were two times that I loss some weight as you can read, it all came back plus some.

This year, I feel something different.  I am hoping this is the motivation I am needing to stay on the right path.  I want to be healthier, get off meds and fit into a 2 piece white bikini.

I have embarked on a journey of eating healthier by focusing on lean meats, fruits, veggies and whole grains. I have also gotten back into weight training and some type of cardio - my fav is ZUMBA.  I am on a mission.  I want to be meds free and keep my Lupus under control.

Wish me luck
